Weather and Climate

Located in the tropics, Bangkok is considered to be among the hottest places on the planet. The average temperature goes up to 30 degrees Celsius for most parts of the year.

In this part of the world, it is basically sunny all year round. The cool season, which is from November to February, is said to be the best time to go to Bangkok.

The hottest months are March and April, where the temperatures reach 35 degrees or higher. The wet season is from May to October. This season has abundance of rain and thunderstorms.

Getting Here

Bangkok is an accessible city and has two airports—Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Muang Airport. These two airports are quite far from the city proper, about 30 kilometers, which is a long drive.

Suvarnabhumi Airport has all the facilities tourists can expect from a contemporary airport. From here, guests can take a cab or opt for the Airport Rail Link, which is a train system used to get to downtown Bangkok.

This is a great option to get to one’s destination faster. There are also shuttle buses Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Muang Airport that everyone can ride, free of charge.

Shopping

Bangkok has always been known to be a shopper’s haven. The variety of shopping experience the city offers is immense.

One can shop in gigantic air conditioned malls for clothes and luxury items, while the more adventurous shoppers can choose to visit the street markets, where lots of great finds await.

Everything from clothes, to crafts, to jewelry, can be found here. Rainhill Plaza on  Sukhumvit 49 is very popular for its unique design and plenty of posh restaurants and unique shops.

There’s also the MBK Shopping Centre that boasts over 2000 shops. Everything one might need is right here. It is also quite appealing as the prices are lower compared to other shops.

Thai cuisine is a class on its own, and Bangkok is the best place to try some of the country’s uniquely flavored dishes.

Guests can indulge over spicy shrimp soup, chicken in coconut soup, and red curry. After a gastronomic feast in one of the city’s prominent dining places, tourists can try Bangkok’s worldly nightlife.
